What LumaPet does — and what it deliberately does not do

LumaPet creates one focused pet profile

The app begins with a name, pet type, and one cover photo selected by the user. The photo should be media the user owns or has permission to use. This profile is intentionally small. It is not a social account, a public memorial page, or a large media library. The narrow setup makes the path from launch to the main experience direct and understandable.

After creation, the saved profile keeps the chosen name, type, and cover photo together. The user can revisit it without rebuilding the record each time. The interface shows the current state rather than creating a feed of prompts. This design supports a simple use case: open one familiar image without searching through a larger library.

Together Space responds to touch

Together Space places the selected photo at the center of a quiet screen. A gentle touch produces a warm visual response, and optional haptic feedback can add a small physical cue on the iPhone. Both responses come from the application interface. LumaPet does not describe them as a message, movement, or sign from the pet.

The experience avoids a busy set of controls. It does not require a daily streak, notification habit, public post, or generated conversation. The user can enter or leave when they choose. Optional haptics can be disabled. The product remains a software surface with a limited interaction, and no specific emotional outcome is promised.

LumaPet works with an existing photo

LumaPet does not generate a new pet portrait and does not generate a pet voice. It displays the photo selected by the user. This boundary is central to the product: remembrance without re-creation. Ordinary placement and cropping help the photo fit the interface, but the product does not claim to reconstruct missing detail or create a new event.

The website includes a free Photo Fit Check to help with the first decision. It previews a square profile crop and a portrait crop locally in the browser. The user can reposition the image and export a branded result. This web preview is separate from the app's operating path and does not upload the selected preview to LumaPet.

The app may upload the selected photo

Inside the iPhone app, the selected photo may be uploaded to LumaPet's backend so the pet profile and Together Space can operate. That fact is why LumaPet avoids absolute statements such as “everything stays on your phone” or “completely private.” Clear handling language lets the user distinguish the browser crop tool from the installed app.

Use only photos you own or have permission to use, and keep the original independently. The app should be one viewing surface, not the only archive. If another person supplied the image, confirm that using it in the app is appropriate. Photo rights and data controls both matter, but one does not replace the other.

Export and delete controls are available

In LumaPet 1.0.4, open Settings and scroll to Data control. Export pet data requests a record of the available pet profile data. Delete all pet data clears the profile from the device and requests deletion of uploaded data. Independent copies, photo-library files, and exports must be managed separately because an app control cannot remove them from unrelated locations.

Before deleting, confirm that the original photo exists outside LumaPet and open any export you intend to keep. Do not assume that uninstalling an app is the same as using its data-control process. Clear labels and a deliberate sequence make it easier to understand what has been saved, what has been requested, and what remains elsewhere.

What LumaPet does not provide

LumaPet is not therapy, veterinary care, emergency assistance, or professional grief support. It does not bring a pet back, simulate presence, or guarantee relief. It does not need a personal loss story to explain or use the product. People who need clinical, veterinary, crisis, or professional services should use an appropriate qualified resource rather than a pet-memory app.

The app is currently a US$9.99 one-time iPhone purchase on the U.S. App Store, with no subscription in this release. The practical scope is one selected photo, a simple profile, warm light, optional haptics, export, and delete controls. Evaluate LumaPet on those concrete features and boundaries.
